Kids Onside Soccer Program
Between 2005 and 2006 Sports Facilitators for All Inc. pioneered a successful junior football program for children with an intellectual disabilitiy in the Geelong area of Victoria. Following the success of the Geelong Soccer program, SFA is now partnered with Victorian Sport and Recreation Association of Persons with an Intellectual Disability (VICSRAPID Inc.) in the coordination of a similar model throughout regional Victoria.
Others partner in this program include Football Federation of Victoria, Sported, VicHealth, Parenting Research Centre and a number of Regional Sports Assemblies.
Good luck to VICSRAPID who are applying for an extension of funding for the program from 2010 - 2012
Supporter Thanks
We gratefully acknowledge the generous donation of David Davenport and Specialised Chicken Services in Queensland.
We appreciate the generosity of our local service clubs Broadmeadows Rotary and the Rotary club of North Balwyn for their significant donations to our work .
Thanks you also to our major sponsor - Picone Hair of Melbourne. Their ongoing financial support now enables us to employ an Executive Director to build the capacity of the organisation.
Thank YOU
A big thank you to Meenah Marchbank and everyone, (kids, staff, and parents), at the Cambridge Primary School in Hoppers Crossing for recently hosting a fundraising day for SFA
Important Survey
What activities do children with a disability living in Victoria take part in?
100 participants still wanted! La Trobe University would like to learn more about the out-of-school activities of children with a disability aged 6 to 18 years. Children will be asked to fill out a child-friendly questionnaire about the activities they do, how often they do them, where they do them, and if they enjoy them. This can be completed by post with supervision from parents/guardians or in person with the help of a research assistant.
To find out more please contact Annie Synnot at La Trobe University on 9479 5789 or A.Synnot@latrobe.edu.au.
